Progress Update - Task Reasoning Works
What We Proved Today
EXP-004 Results: - 20 examples (12 identity + 8 tasks) - 10 epochs, 5 minutes training - Loss: 2.96 → 0.026 - 4/4 novel task scenarios handled correctly
The Recipe So Far
- 3D Format -
/ structure - Natural thinking language - 'Let me think...', 'Chris is asking...'
- Combined training - Identity + Tasks in same dataset
- Scenario-based examples - Not just questions, but tasks with ambiguity
What's Working
- Identity (LARS knows who it is)
- Task decomposition (breaks down multi-step requests)
- Storage reasoning (knows Context vs KB vs Track)
- Ambiguity handling (searches or asks for clarity)
What Needs Work
- Hallucination (makes up details not in training)
- Base model knowledge interference
- Actual tool execution (trained to reason, not execute yet)
Next Bricks in the Foundation
- More task examples with real Nexus tool references
- Gateway infrastructure on AI server
- Test on 14B model (scaling check)
- Self-learning experiments (read → comprehend → update)
Key Insight
The 3D format works for BOTH identity AND operational reasoning. The thinking process is transferable across task types. This is the foundation we can build on.
